Who's In Charge?
I have a running question going with my daughters to engrain in their little heads who wields the power in our family. Goes something like this:
>Me: "Girls...Girls!...Hello?...Ok 1,2,3 eyes on me. Thank you. Now, Who is in Charge around here?"
>4 Year old Daughter: no answer
>2 Year Old Daughter: (with tons of sweetness) "daddy's in charge"
>Me: "MMMMMhhhhmmm....that's what I'm talking about. Now who else is in charge?"
>4 Year Old: no answer
>2 Year Old: (with tons of sweetness) "Mama's in Charge"
>Me: That's right!
Now I know the dialog is hollow and I really am powerless however I'm not willing to let the world know this. Should my sassy two year old or her equally sassy 4 year old sister throw a temper tantrum in public I will not argue or negotiate with them. If I did folks witnessing the commotion would conclude the kids clearly have the upper hand.
